Chaat is a term describing savory snacks, typically served at road-side tracks from stalls or food carts in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. With its origin in Uttar Pradesh, Chaat has become immensely popular in the rest of South Asia.

Here is the recipe of a healthy, delicious and an all-time savory snack simply prepared using Pomegranate kernels, Cum...ber, Onion and mildly spiced with Chaat Masala powder. The sweet and sour Pomegranate kernels stimulate our taste buds when it mildly mix with spicy Chaat Masala.

INGREDIENTS :

• Pomegranate kernels – 1 cup
• Cucumber – 1, chopped in small cubes
• Onion – 1 finely chopped
• Chaat Masala Powder – ½ tsp or as per your taste
• Sev, savory or simply salty – ½ cup
• Salt – to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

• In a mixing bowl, put the pomegranate kernels, cucumber, onion, salt and combine well.
• Add chaat masala powder and toss well.
• Sprinkle sev on its top and serve immediately as snack.

NOTE :

1. Add sev just before serving only. Otherwise it becomes soggy. The sev should remain crunchy while eating.
2. Optionally, we can add few copped coriander leaves.
3. We don’t need to add any lime juice since the pomegranate kernels give light sour taste.
