MUSSELS FRY/KALLUMAKA FRY

Ingredients
Mussels (shells removed & cleaned) -500gms
Garlic thinley sliced -1tbs
Ginger thinly sliced -1tbs
Onion thinly sliced- 1 large or Shallots -250 gms
Green chillies sliced – 4 nos
kashmiri chilli powder -1tbs
Coriander powder -1/2 tbs
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Black pepper powder -1tsp
Garam masala powder-1tsp
Vinegar -1/2 tsp
Curry leaves -2-3 sprigs
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
oil- 4tbs
salt to taste
Preparation

In a frying pan add 2 tbs of oil. When it is medium heat, add mustard seeds to pop. Then add sliced onions, green chillies , ginger and garlic. Sauté it for few minutes until onions are translucent. Add curry leaves , all masala powders, salt and stir for 2 minutes. To this add mussels ,vinegar and 1/2cup of water. Mix well, bring it boil then cover with lid and simmer it for 15 minutes .Take the lid off and fry it for few more minutes until mussels are dark brown in colour.
