POMFRET FISH FRY

A very simple, easy and tasty recipe. I am sure this mouthwatering fish fry will vanish from your dish in no time.. 

Pomfret ( aavoli ) - 1 kg
Ginger, garlic paste - 2 tbspn
Chilli powder - 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Fish masala - 1 tbsp
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Sliced onion - ½ cups
Green chilli - 2, cut into small pieces
Curry leaves - 5,6 strands with stem ( for frying )
Salt - as required
Coconut oil - for frying

Wash, clean and cut fish into pieces, keep aside.

In a bowl, add ginger, garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, fish masala and salt. Add little coconut oil to this and make a paste.

Marinate fish pieces in this masala and keep it in fridge for 1 hour. So that the masala will coat well to the fish pieces.

Take a frying pan, layer the bottom of pan with fresh curry leaves along with its stem. Arrange marinated fish on top of curry leaves. In a very low flame cover and cook fish for few minutes and then add coconut oil as required and fry them in a low, medium flame till both sides are done.

Mix vinegar and salt to the chopped onions and green chillies. In a serving plate arrange fried fish pieces, garnish it with this onions and gren chillies. Serve hot with a plate of rice..

NOTE :

Frying fish in curry leaves will give a nice aroma and a different taste to the fish fry.

Rubbing vinegar and salt to the chopped onions and chillies will give a combination of sour, spicy taste.
