Onion tomato chutney

Onion: 2 medium sized
Tomato (blanched and chopped): 2 medium sized
Red chillies/ Kashmiri chillies: 5-7
Garlic: 2 cloves
Clove: 2 buds
Curry leaves
Tamarind: a small piece (optional)
Salt and sugar: as required

For seasoning:
Black gram
Curry leaves

Heat oil in a pan and fry the red chillies. Set aside. To this oil, add the chopped onion, curry leaves, garlic, cloves and saute till the onion become transparent. Add in the chopped tomatoes and also the tamarind piece if required. Allow this to cool a bit. Grind this to a coarse paste.
Heat oil, add the mustard seeds and black gram. Roast the black gram and add curry leaves. Add in the chutney paste. Add sait. Balance the sourness by adding sugar. Stir till oil start coming from the sides. Serve hot!
