Ayala Peera Pattichathu

Ayala(Mackerel) - 1 kg
Small Onion(Kunjulli) - 1/4 kg
Ginger/garlic - - 4 tbsp (chopped)
Green chilli -6 crushed
Kukum star(kudampuli) - 4 pieces
Coconut grated- 2 cups
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
Salt as required
Method :
1)Clean and wash the fish and cut it into small pieces.
• 2)Slice small onions.
• 3)Handmix grated coconut, sliced onion, chopped ginger/garlic, crushed green chillies ,saltand turmeric powder.
• 4)Put the fish pieces in a pan or meen chatti, add tamarind (kudampuli), coconut mixture and mix it well.
• 5)Add little water and cover the pan with a lid and cook in medium flame until all the water gets evaporated.
• 6)Sprinkle 2 tablespoon coconut oil over the dish just before removing it from fire.
• :-Serve hot with rice
