Prawns - 500 Gms, cleaned
Finely chopped Onion - 1 Nos
Sliced green chillies - 2 Nos...
Garlic cloves- 2 Nos
Tamarind - 5 Gms
Chopped Capsicum - ½ cup
Thick coconut milk - 1 cup
Grated coconut - ½ cup
Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
Coriander powder - ½ Tablespoon
Cumin seeds - ½ Teaspoon
Pepper corns - 10-12 Nos
Coconut oil - 2 Tablespoon
Water as required
Salt to taste
Add the tamarind into 2 tablespoon of water and set aside.
Heat oil in an earthen pot, add chopped onion and saute till it becomes transparent.
Then add the cleaned prawns and fry for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
Grind together grated coconut,garlic,turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds and pepper corns and make a fine paste.
Add the grated mixture into the pot and stir well.
Add water, tamarind juice, sliced green chillies, chopped capsicum, coconut milk and cook till the prawns are cooked well over medium flame.
When the gravy is thick, remove the curry from flame.
Serve Hot
