Soya Bean Oats Tikki / Vada
By : Chithra Vijayan
Soya bean and oats are both good for health, rich in protein and fibre. So it's a perfect snack for both kids and adults

Please note it's soya beans and not soya chunks

Soak 1 cup soya beans for some 4 hours and then cook it with salt and a little turmeric powder. Then blend it in a mixer to form a coarse paste.

To this add
1 finely chopped Onion
Finely chopped Green chilly(1)
Chilli powder (1-2 tsp, adjust according to spiciness required)
Ginger garlic paste(1 tsp)
I grinded ginger, garlic and chillies along with soya beans for convenience😉
Chaat masala (2 tsp)(he is the taste maker 🙂)
Garam masala (1/4 tsp)
Turmeric powder(1/4 tsp)
Fresh Yogurt/ curd (2 TableSpoons)
Finely chopped Coriander leaves/ Dhania( 2 Tablespoons)
Salt to taste if required( remember we had already added it to soya while cooking, so adjust taste accordingly)

And finally add
1 cup of rolled oats into this

Mix everything well. Add water if required so that u can take this mix as rolls and shape it in form of tikkis.
You can cook these tikkis in very less oil as no deep frying is required( rolled oats needs very less time to cook and soya beans are already cooked). Cook in less oil till both the sides are cooked properly and got golden brown.

Tasty Soya beans Oats Tikkis are ready to be served with green chutney or tomato sauce 🙂
Plz try it and do let me know if u loved it
Eat healthy, live happily!
