Chilly Chicken
By : Sunayana Sayanora
To a bowl, add 250 grams of cubed boneless chicken, 1 ½ tsp soya sauce, 1 ½ tsp chilly sauce and ½ tsp pepper powder. Marinate and set aside until you prepare the seasoning ingredients. You can leave it for 45 minutes.
Sprinkle 2 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp plain flour and required salt on the chicken. Mix well. If the chicken is too dry, sprinkle little water and mix. Otherwise you can use 1 egg. Here I didn't use egg. Add ½ tsp chilly powder. This helps to get a good colour.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame. Deep fry the chicken pieces until golden colour. Drain off on the kitchen tissue.
Prepare the sauce for seasoning in a bowl. Add 1 ½ tsp soya sauce, ¾ tsp vinegar, ½ tsp red chilly powder, 1 tsp chilly sauce or ketchup. I used red chilly powder again for the colour.
Remove the oil to a bowl and keep 3 tsp oil in the pan. Add chopped garlic and fry little. Add chopped onions, 3 green chillies, chopped capsicum and required salt. Fry until they turn little brown colour. Add sauce. Add fried chicken. Fry on high for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.
